TWO men charged with offences in relation to an alleged incident at last year’s Tyrone Ladies GAA final are expected to indicate their attitude to the charges at Omagh Magistrates Court in two weeks time.
Patrick Ivor Diggan (47) of Creggan Road, Carrickmore is accused of assaulting the chairman of the Tyrone Ladies Board, Martin Conway, at the final.
Bernard McAleer (59) of Gortscraheen Road, Pomeroy is charged with assaulting the referee Simon Brady occasioning him actual bodily harm and assaulting Mr Conway.
Carrickmore and St Macartan’s contested the final played in Beragh on June 24 last year.
The defendants’ solicitor, Michael Fahy, asked the court for CCTV and stills “to assist in the case.”
He said, “The attitude to the charges will be indicated in two weeks.”
Diggan and McAleer will return to the court on February 14 to plead to the offences.
